Approach
From first conversation to the last object.
We take on two to three projects at a time, so each receives sustained attention from first sketch to final styling.
Most projects run 12–18 months from first conversation to handover.
Conversation
We start on site with you — how you live, what the house has to do, how you want it to feel. We look at the existing layouts and what can realistically change, talk through budget and programme, and suggest the consultants and contractors the project will need. If you haven't done this before, this is also where we explain how the process works and what it will ask of you.
Concept
Layouts come first, then the feel of the place. Mood imagery, and a presentation of the hard and soft finishes in person — stone, timber, plaster and fabric on the table in front of you rather than on a screen. From the drawings we produce elevations of the key walls, dressed in the actual stone, timber and metal, with options set side by side. You can see where the veining falls and how the brass sits against it before a decision is made.
Development
The signed-off concept becomes technical. Detailed layouts, elevations, joinery drawings, lighting and finishes, coordinated with the engineers and specialists. It ends as a complete tender package — drawings, specifications and schedules — ready to go out to trades for pricing.
Furnishing
Furniture, decorative lighting, fabrics, window treatments and the pieces that finish a room, drawn up as a full specification with a room-by-room budget you approve before anything is ordered. Bespoke items — upholstery, headboards, joinery — are designed at this stage and made to measure.
On site
Months of site visits and coordination with your contractor and suppliers, reviewing samples, shop drawings and mock-ups against the approved design as the house is built. Most of the procurement happens over this period, and we can manage it for you — quotes, orders, lead times, deliveries and installation sequencing — so that everything arrives when the site is ready for it.
Handover
Furniture placed, art hung, the final pieces styled, and a last walk through the house with us, checking the finished rooms against the design. You move into a home that is complete, rather than one you spend the next year finishing.
